The Parable of The Good Samaritan is one of the most famous of all the parables Jesus taught. It has become a saying in our society, “Be a Good Samaritan”. But, is it something we live by? Too often, as Christians, we come up with excuses as to why we can’t help those in need. “I’m too busy.” “I don’t have enough money for myself.” “I don’t know what to do to help that person.” These are just some of the excuses we use for why we can’t help those around us who are in need. Jesus teaches in this parable that if we don’t show kindness and compassion to those, we are not fulfilling our duty as true Christ followers. Be the example to your family and find ways to help meet the needs of the people around you.
ELEMENTARY: Do a good deed . . . no matter the need.
