We all know that moms are loving, giving, nurturing, and on call 24/7. You take excellent care of your family, but who takes care of YOU? When do YOU find time to relax, unwind, and recharge? The answer is MOPS & MOMSnext at River City Church! Our group is designed for moms (and led by moms!) whose sole purpose is to “do life” with fellow mamas!

When are the meetings?

RCC MOPS and MOMSnext meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday evenings of each month (September through May) from 6:45-8:30 PM. We meet at River City Church in Lafayette, IN. Our first meeting for the 2019-2020 year is September 25th.

What is the difference between MOPS and MOMSnext?

MOPS is mothers of preschoolers and is designed for moms with at least one child in Kindergarten or younger (including moms pregnant, adopting, or fostering).

MOMSNext is geared towards mothers of school-aged children and moms must have at least one child in Kindergarten or older.

Is there childcare?

Yes! MOPSKids is our children’s program for kids ages birth-5 years old. Kids in kindergarten-5th grade will attend River City Kids. And 6th-12th graders will participate in River City Students.

Our MOPS/MOMSNEXT gatherings bring many kiddos into the River City Kids classrooms, and because of the large number of kids we bring with us, this allows us the opportunity to serve our kids and each other. We will do this by rotating our MOPS/MOMSNEXT tables into the River City Kids classrooms, each table serving 2 MOPS/MOMSNEXT gatherings per year.

Luke 18:16 tells us, “But Jesus called the children to Him and said, “Don’t stop the children from coming to Me! Children like these are part of the kingdom of God.”

By rotating our tables into the River City Kids classrooms, we get to see a glimpse of what our children are experiencing during our MOPS/MOMSNEXT gatherings and what the children’s ministry is doing in our children’s lives. We also are given the gift of serving our kiddos. If you do not bring your children to our gatherings, your serving in the classrooms is a gift to your fellow MOPS/MOMSNEXT mommas who do!

For the safety of all children, all adults serving in any classroom at River City Church are routinely background checked. So, in following with that policy, all MOPS/MOMSNEXT moms will be required to complete the background check form that will be provided.
